Project Description

Project Context :

Data management is a key issue in (1) fueling and promoting the R&D projects of the Ecla Center and its partners, (2) supporting the implementation of public policies (including the WFD) and (3) enhancing both national and international visibility of the Ecla Center.

Project Objectives :

The various actions aims to build, consolidate and share digital components to address the six steps of the data cycle (from collection to reuse). Careful attention is paid to the choice of solutions, preferably based on open-source technologies, and to compliance with existing norms and standards.

Project Results

Beyond the maintenance of the dataECLA software components, this year’s expected outcomes include the deployment of tools for data entry, storage, visualisation (Fishthèque), and educational reuse (FishQuizz) of photographs collected during WFD monitoring of fish fauna in rivers and lakes. Applications developed in 2015 will also be deployed, including WFD dashboards for hydromorphology and macrophytes, as well as a WFD data inventory tool. Finally, a new development effort will address lake trophic network modelling and the valorisation of associated metrics.
