Project Description

Project Context :

Understanding the mechanisms of temperature adaptation makes it possible to directly assess the impact of climate warming on intraspecific diversity, a factor often overlooked in species conservation. In addition to evaluating the long-term persistence of populations (here, Arctic charr) under climate projections, this provides insights to optimize population management strategies. More broadly, this knowledge can be applied to other species facing similar challenges, such as whitefish.

Project Objectives :

Overall, this project aims to improve understanding of the thermal ecology of Arctic charr and the resulting genetic and phenotypic diversity, which are necessary for the implementation of effective conservation measures for the species.
