Project Description

Project Context :

Public interest for lakes has been an emerging issue in recent years, in connection with the increasing recreational use of these ecosystems. Quantifying this growing interest at a large scale, however, remains challenging. The temporal evolution of search volumes for identified ecosystems through Google Trends can serve as a proxy for public interest in lakes, thereby providing insights into potential changes in their visitation patterns

Project Objectives :

The aims of the project are to characterize public interest in French lakes, to assess its temporal evolution, and identify the variables that may explain public interest and its variations over time in these ecosystems.

Project Results

Public interest of lakes depend both of the lake's characteristics and of their geographic locations.
